The Montezuma-Cortez High School cross country team ran in the Bayfield XC Challenge at Sauls Creek on Saturday.
Dillon Wells was the top Panthers placer with a ninth-place finish time of 19:40 in the seven-team meet.
Abby Lock led the Lady Panthers in 13th with a time of 24:34.
As a team, M-CHS finished fourth on both sides, as the boys accumulated an average time of 21:23.25 and the girls averaged 26:37.75. Pagosa Springs and Bayfield won the boys and girls team titles.
Other Panthers finishes were Jonathan Bloedel, 21:02 (19th); Stepehen Garner, 21:25 (27th); Chandler Dee, 23:06 (31st); Mack Carter, 23:53 (35th); and, Kyle Baacke, 23:57 (36th).
For the remaining Lady Panthers finishes, Rachel Demby, 25:34 (18th); Elana Cope, 27:46 (24th); and, Meggie Curtis, 28:37 (27th).
M-CHS will run at the Chieftain Invitational on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Shiprock, N.M.
