WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 14

Ÿ An officer was dispatched to a mobile home park in reference to a disturbance. A male at the scene, who was obviously intoxicated, said he was arguing with a friend on the phone. When asked if there was anyone else in the trailer, he said no. The officer checked the rest of the trailer and found a female and another male hiding in the bathtub, behind the shower curtain. When asked why she was hiding, the female said that it was because she was not supposed to be around the male the officer had first contacted. A check confirmed that the male had an active restraining order barring him from the female hiding in the bathtub. The male denied fighting with the female, and when asked why she was in his trailer, he told the officer that she had come to make him beef stew, and admitted knowing about the order restraining him from being around her. He also admitted knowing that the restraining order also barred him from drinking, and that he drank the three 40-ounce beers sitting empty. He was arrested for violation of the restraining order, and advised that his brother was also in the residence, hiding in the back bedroom. He was found hiding in the back corner of a closet, and was also found to be intoxicated. When asked why he was hiding, he said that he did not want to get into trouble. The second male was also found to have an active restraining order barring him from being around the same female, or from drinking alcohol. He was also arrested. The male siblings were left in the care and custody of jail staff.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 16

Ÿ An officer pulled over a vehicle observed passing another in an area marked no passing with double yellow lines, and traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer recognized the female passenger from prior contacts and knew that she had an active restraining order against the male driver of the car, who was barred from having any contact with her. The male was handcuffed and placed into custody for violation of a criminal protection order. When the female was asked why she was with the male with the restraining order, she said that she loved him.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 17

Ÿ Two officers responded to a gas station in reference to a male who threw a beer bottle at a vehicle, damaging the vehicle. The vehicle that had been struck with the bottle was parked at a gas pump, and had five occupants in it, all tourists from France. The officer spoke with a woman, the only one who could speak and understand English clearly, who told him they had been buying gas when another car pulled up directly across from them at another pump. A male got out and began yelling and throwing his hands in the air. The group of tourists ignored him, and the male walked between the pumps and grabbed the fuel nozzle from their car and threw it on the ground. While this was happening, a female from the other car was apologizing to the tourists for the male’s behavior. The male then walked back to the other vehicle, yelling and throwing his arms in the air, and then threw a glass bottle at their car, striking it and causing a dent, and the car the male arrived in then drove away, leaving him at the scene. The male, who was intoxicated, was arrested. He claimed that had been “jumped” in Towaoc that night and was looking for the people who beat him up. He was unable to clearly tell officers what was going on due to his slurred speech.

Ÿ An officer was dispatched to a storage facility to speak with a male about a vandalism complaint against his ex-girlfriend who had damaged all of his stuff inside the storage unit. He explained that he and his girlfriend had broken up a week ago because she accused him of cheating on her. The male found a note inside his car the previous night from his ex-girlfriend that said he might want to go look in his storage, and then called him an expletive. The note had a smiley face on it. When the male went to his storage unit in the morning, he found a lot of his belongings broken, and chewing tobacco spit all over the other items. When asked why he thought his ex-girlfriend had done this, the male told the officer that the ex chews tobacco and she had a key to the storage unit. Some of the destroyed items included a fishing pole broken in half, a mirror and a neon light sign that had both been shattered, a water bed valued at $1,000 which had been ripped so it could not hold water, and a bedspread that had been ripped apart. There was a long handwritten note at the scene accusing the male of cheating and saying that he had broken her heart, which was taken into evidence. The officer then spoke with the ex-girlfriend, who admitted to going into the storage locker and breaking everything she thought did not have much meaning to her ex-boyfriend. She was placed into custody and a felony hold slip was issued for criminal mischief over $1,000.

MONDAY, SEPT. 19

Ÿ An officer responded to a call from a woman who advised him that her American flag had been burned sometime during the night. The flag was taken from a pole in front of her house that is shared with a neighbor, and his Iwo Jima flag that was on the same pole had also been stolen recently. The officer examined the spot where the flag had been burned, and melted onto the wooden fence, which was not damaged. Photos were taken of the fence and of the burned flag for evidence.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 20

Ÿ An officer was assisting another with another traffic stop when a vehicle pulled up behind their patrol cars. A female got out and stated that she had been hit and cut with a knife by her husband. The officer saw blood and what looked like muscle or tissue exposed from the cut on the woman’s hand. The officer followed the woman to her home to speak with the husband, who said that they had been playing softball and while driving home, his wife was hitting him and telling him their marriage was over. He said that he had been out of the Marine Corps for a couple of months, and that sometimes he blanks out. He stated that he got angry and told his wife to stop hitting him. He admitted to hitting his wife in the face, and that he had a knife in his car, but that he didn’t know if he had cut her or not. He admitted to having had some beer several hours earlier. The husband was handcuffed and taken into custody, and during questioning, told the officer that he had blanked out when he got angry on a previous occasion as well. The knife, approximately 6 to 8 inches long, was found in the car with fresh blood on it.
