United Way of Southwest Colorado will be hosting a fundraiser and concert at the Dolores River Campground on June 14 at 5 p.m.

Local band The Tomlynns will perform, and there will be a campfire and activities for children, including a cakewalk. Wood-fired pizzas will be for sale from Sweet Water Gypsies, and beer from Dolores River Brewery will be on tap. Homemade deserts also will be for sale.

United Way raises money for 17 local nonprofits in Montezuma and Dolores counties and provides volunteer support.

In 2014-15 United Way granted $49,000 to local nonprofits in 2014-15 and $34,000 in 2015-16. This year, United Way hopes to raise $46,000. United Way will also use the funds for the 2-1-1 urgent-needs referral service and ConnectSWCO.org volunteer management website. The local United Way chapter also brought in $119,000 in grant funds to support the Team Up program that improves child well-being in Montezuma and Dolores counties.
