Jesus would pull the TV plug

Dear Editor:

Several years ago, a coworker was hit in the head by a metal object propelled by a 10,000-pound force. All vital and physical signs indicated that he was dead. After doing what I knew to do for him, I took off my hat, knelt, laid hands on him and prayed to God in the name of Jesus for his healing. The injured worker opened his eyes, looked up and began breathing normally. Six hours later, he was out of the hospital. Within months, he was back on the job.

I praise God for this “miracle.” The Bible says miracles are for a sign to the unbeliever and for the glory of God. The sign points to the message of Christ for us to turn away from our self-destructive ways and return to the Father.

The word “miracle” has come up regarding Denver Bronco quarterback Tim Tebow. Many people claim the hand of God must be involved.

SNL made light of Tebow’s reliance on prayer. When they took their shots at Tebow, they also took a swipe at all others who believe that Jeshua Ben Joseph (Jesus of Nazareth) is the Christ, the very Son of God. They ridiculed our belief that we may pray in any instance for strength and courage and healing, and yes, for God’s intervention into our circumstances.

Paul the Apostle writes that we are to be defenders of our faith. Not only are we to stand fast in what the Bible teaches us, but we are to stand up for the rights of other believers. I cannot do much about NBC’s actions; I can prevent their programs, advertisers and God-hating proselytizing from making their way onto our television. I think Jesus would be OK with pulling the plug on NBC and SNL.
