The Chamber Ambassador Program is part of the Cortez Area Chamber of Commerce’s business outreach efforts.

By giving of their time to help businesses grow and achieve successful results, Ambassadors contribute to the overall economic health and growth of the local business community, according to a statement from the chamber.

Chamber Ambassadors are goodwill representatives. They are professional liaisons to the business community and strengthen the chamber’s relationship to its members and the community. Because all ambassadors are active members of the Cortez Area Chamber of Commerce, they provide an important member-to member link, understanding and responding to member needs as only another member can, according to the chamber.

Each month Ambassadors dedicate time to interact with other business entrepreneurs, professionals, volunteers and other individuals on behalf of the chamber in person and by telephone. Ambassadors encourage members to become involved and help them learn more about chamber programs and initiatives. Ambassadors take new members under their wing, foster communication between the chamber staff and members, and generally act as the eyes and ears of the chamber in the community. Ambassadors also represent the chamber at networking events, business meetings and other functions.

Although the chamber provides many networking and educational opportunities for its members, the chamber doesn’t always see representatives from some small businesses because many of them just don’t have either the time or manpower to do anything but work their business. So the chamber decided to take the party on the road to them.

The Chamber Ambassadors recently surprised the staff at Superior Auto Carquest to thank them for being a Cortez Area Chamber of Commerce member and delivered to them enough fresh donuts to share with customers who were lucky enough to stop by that morning.

The chamber’s goal is to build the community while helping member businesses to prosper. Through active participation in the chamber, you will have the opportunity to network with fellow business people and make important contacts, as well as gain knowledge that can help you and your business to grow.
