Mr. Winter has gotten a bit lazy in Rico

I have been completely caught off guard this time! We in our small little village kind of feel that we usually know what’s going on around here. Important events, at least. It seems that there is possibly a transaction taking place involving areas of property that might just be changing hands. I think that it would be best if I did some investigating before opening my mouth and getting into trouble, but I am not being that conservative today. In fact, maybe I am the last to know that something exciting is about to happen. Now that I have aroused your curiosity, I must await more information before I continue!

The Dew South restaurant has a new menu and new managers, Gary and Tracy, who have worked hard to please the community and we appreciate that! See you all there!

The Masonic Lodge has been a landmark in Rico since the turn of the century; the Masons have worked hard over the years to keep the Lodge itself in sound condition, and some years ago they undertook some restoration remodeling. Jon and Melissa Kornbluh opened their international candle business and occupied the first floor of the Lodge for several years before moving to Ridgway. After the Kornbluhs left, Joan Folsom moved her fabulous antiques into the rental space. She is retired now, and the Masons need to find someone that might be interested in renting. They would like to pay off the remodeling debt! Come one, come all!

Children are back in school. They got in some great skiing days. The skating rink was given a rest after Mr. Winter got lazy and almost allowed a spring thaw take over. Water running down the streets, puddles here and there, etc. The community worries a little. Snow will come and, as usual, we should receive our fair share. Anything over 200 inches would be nice — that is a little below normal, but we’d take that amount, for sure.
