WEDNESDAY, FEB. 22 Ÿ Dispatch aired a caller’s report of an intoxicated female attempting to drive away from a residence in Dolores. The car was found parked near the bar with its headlights on and the female sitting in the driver’s seat, the engine was still running. The woman admitted to driving her car from the residence, and the deputy noted several signs of intoxication. The woman failed voluntary roadside maneuvers and was placed under arrest for further investigation of DUI. She was also issued a notice of license revocation. Ÿ Three deputies responded to a call that a male having several outstanding warrants from multiple jurisdictions had been reported as currently at a location. The male was located in the woman’s bedroom and taken into custody without incident. A search of the male revealed a plastic bag with marijuana in a pants pocket and a container with a joint in it. The male was booked into jail on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. FRIDAY, FEB. 24 Ÿ A deputy traveling east on Road G followed a vehicle with an unreadable license plate. Another deputy advised that there was a bag of marijuana partially underneath the driver’s seat in plain view, and also a plant starter kit on the passenger seat which is used to start the growth of marijuana plants. The male driver said that he had just picked up the bag of marijuana that day and that he did not have a current medical marijuana card, but he did have expired paperwork. The deputy located the paperwork in the car that had been issued on April 3 of 2010. A search of the vehicle also revealed a glass pipe with burnt marijuana residue, a second plastic bag full of pot, a bottle with four prescription pills with a woman’s name on it, and an additional pipe with burnt residue. The driver showed no signs of impairment. He was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. SUNDAY, FEB. 26 Ÿ A deputy observed a pick-up truck go through an intersection on a county road without coming to a complete stop. The deputy contacted the truck and observed three occupants inside. When the female driver was asked who the other two occupants were, she provided two first names that she said that she knew them by, but did not know their last names. The male had gone inside a trailer house and returned with $40. The woman eventually admitted that he had handed her a baggie. She said that she put it inside a match box and put it in a cubby hole next to the steering column. When asked what was inside the baggie, she told the deputy that she believed it was methamphetamine. The male was identified and placed into custody. The deputy also found a small container in one of his socks that contained another plastic baggie that contained more meth. The total amount of meth found totaled 8 grams. Ÿ A vehicle heading north on Broadway was pulled over for speeding. Both occupants of the car said that they didn’t have IDs and provided names. The occupants both stated that they had given the right information and that the deputy could come to their house and look for their IDs, so the deputy drove them to an address at a local trailer park. A second deputy was given permission to look inside and did a walk through of the residence where he found drug paraphernalia out in the open in the bedroom, which the male said was his. The male provide numerous types of ID, with differing information and dates of birth on them. The woman also admitted to lying about her name because she had warrants out of Arizona. The male was booked for possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal impersonation, and was also found to have a felony parole warrant out of Arizona. Ÿ A deputy followed a vehicle traveling east with expired tags on Hwy. 184. After being stopped, the male driver opened the door, stating that the window on the car would not roll down, and the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverages. He was asked to exit the vehicle and admitted that he had drank 10 or more beers, and was barely able to stand. He declined voluntary roadside maneuvers. He was placed under arrest for DUI, and as he was searched, the deputy found a glass methamphetamine pipe in the man’s jeans pocket. The driver was charged with DUI, for driving with a cancelled or denied license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
