The 2017 George Geer Memorial Car Show, honoring George Geer, a Montezuma County soldier who died in Iraq in 2005, drew automobile fans to Centennial Park on Saturday.

The show, hosted by the Blue Star Moms Southwest Chapter 2 of Colorado, raises funds to benefit veterans and their families. It costs $35 to enter a vehicle, but the show is free to the public.

Car owners also competed in a burn-off contest at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Angel’s End Zone, 309 N. Broadway.

For more information about how to contribute on behalf of local veterans, call Sandra Valencia at 970-560-2572.
