Area students present at research symposium

The following area students presented research projects at Fort Lewis College’s Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 19:

Trevor Downing of Mancos presented GIS and Soil Analysis to Determine Slope Stability and Trail Opportunities: Lake Nighthorse, Durango, CO. Downing’s major is geology — environmental geology option.

Logan Ott of Mancos presented Piezoelectric Biosensors, along with fellow student Jay Engstrom. Ott’s major is physics — engineering physics option.

Jennifer Ulrich of Dolores presented Nitrate Loading: An Analysis of Land-Use Impacts on Topsoils within the Rio Java Watershed, Las Cruces Biological Research Station, Costa Rica. Ulrich’s major is geology — environmental geology option.
