Wednesday, Nov. 1
9:47 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of fraud in the 5000 block of County Road 21. A woman reported her husband had given about $1,600 since Oct. 24 to a caller pretending to represent “Microsoft Support,” who said it was the payment required for fixing his computer, before realizing he was being scammed. Deputies were unable to determine the identity of the caller, and the couple said they did not expect any action from law enforcement, but called so that the incident would be documented.
Thursday, Nov. 2
12:34 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 29000 block of Colorado Highway 184 on suspicion of criminal mischief. Witnesses claimed he had caused about $4,000 in damage to a camper belonging to Gonzales Construction by smashing its windows. The suspect was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment due to severe intoxication and a head wound that may have been sustained during a fall.
9:11 a.m.: A woman was arrested at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a driving under restraint charge.
11:57 a.m.: A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
Friday, Nov. 3
6:31 a.m.: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order.
2:30 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.
5:39 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of theft in the 36000 block of County Road P.8. A man reported a pistol valued at $246.99, and a holster valued at $69.95, had been stolen from his vehicle sometime in the previous week. The case remains under investigation.
7:09 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a dog bite at Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road. A woman claimed her daughter had been bitten by an unknown dog near their residence in the 23000 block of County Road M, while trying to break up a fight between it and another dog. Deputies were unable to immediately identify the dog’s owner.
Saturday, Nov. 4
1:10 a.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on suspicion of driving without proof of insurance, driving without a license, speeding and driving without proof of registration. He reportedly refused to roll down his window or open his vehicle’s door when he was pulled over, leading the responding deputy to pull him out of the vehicle by his arm. The man reportedly told the deputy he believed it was unlawful to detain him and to require him to drive with a license.
4:02 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on suspicion of driving while impaired after he was pulled over for weaving. He was given a verbal warning for the traffic violation.
