kittens — lots of kittens — await your consideration at the Cortez Animal Shelter. This sweet, playful, little orange boy and his equally-orange brother are so anxious to get into a new home. The shelter has a black kitten, a tiger-calico, little tiger tabbies, and long-haired kittens with a mix of colors. Please consider adopting a kitten or one of the affectionate adult female cats at the shelter, including Mow Mow, a penguin-colored girl with a goatee who speaks in trills, a smallish buff-colored young girl with stripes and a leopard-spotted tummy who loves dogs, and a gorgeous little brown and black tortoise shell mama whose kittens have all been adopted. One of these loving adults would make a great addition to a home, and these girls really need a chance. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays. They will be closed this Friday. The shelter is seeking a used otoscope (the device doctors use to look into ears); they ask if any medical offices or vet clinics have an old device they have upgraded from, the shelter could really use one! They also need non-clumping cat litter, scented bleach, liquid laundry soap, new or used leashes, and large-size rawhide chews — the homeless dogs really look forward to getting one each afternoon.
