Dear Editor:

The Board of Directors of the Mancos Fire Protection District and the members of Mancos Hose Co. No. 1 wish to recognize and thank the following organizations for their help during the Weber Fire. Without their dedication and unselfish assistance, it would have been very difficult to achieve the successful protection of homes and property during this disastrous wildfire.

All it took was one call and they were ready to respond with manpower and the apparatus necessary to reach that goal. Friends and neighbors were in need of help and they volunteered to commit their personnel to assist our community during this time. We could not have done it without their help.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to each of them. We were proud to work next to each of these departments.

Fire Departments:

Mancos Hose Co. No. 1, San Juan Co., New Mexico, Dolores, Cortez, Durango, Lewis, Ft. Lewis Mesa, Pleasant View, Rico and Ute Mountain.

Also we would like to thank:

Mancos Marshall, Cortez Dispatch Center, Red Cross, Southwest Ambulance, the Montezuma Co. Sheriff and Federal Government Management Teams III and II and all incoming wildland firefighting teams.

To all individuals and groups from surrounding communities that provided assistance and supplies to the Mancos Fire Dept.THANK YOU!

The Mancos Fire Department
