WEDNESDAY, JULY 11
Brandon M. Charlie, 18, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count driving under the influence, and to one count of leaving the scene of an accident unattended vehicle. This sentence is concurrent with count 2 of case number 12M48 in County Court, Montezuma County. This is defendants first DUI. On the first count, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail with suspended imposition, and 12 months supervised private probation. He was ordered to perform 24 hours of useful public service/community service by June 10, 2013. On the second count, defendant received a deferred sentence of 12 months, plus 12 months supervised private probation. Defendant was also ordered to pay $1,376.50 in fines and costs. He must attend Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving and Alive at 25 classes, and must obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all treatment recommendations. Defendant must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use all standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Defendant is to follow all conditions of probation. Jail time is suspended upon successful completion of probation. He must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court. Private probation is to run concurrent with count 2.
Lorna Mae Tulio, 53, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of ownership of a dangerous dog. She was ordered to pay $284.50 in fines and costs. Restitution is open for 90 days.
Augusta Kelly Zamarripa, 38, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of providing alcohol to a minor. She was sentenced to 12 months supervised state probation and was ordered to pay $893.50 in fines and costs. She must perform 50 hours of useful public service/community service by Jan. 11, 2013 and provide proof of this to the court. Defendant must also obtain an alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations, and must participate in parenting classes.
TUESDAY, JULY 17
Sean M. Ogden, 20, of Durango, pleaded guilty to one count of 3rd degee assault knowingly/recklessly causing injury. He received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation, and was ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs. He must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court. He is required to attend anger management classes and to provide proof of this to the court within 12 months.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 18
Jeffrey Paul Broderick, 28, of Dolores, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to pay $131 in fines and costs.
Shaynese S. Havens, 18, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count underage possession/consumption of alcohol. She received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation and 24 hours of useful public service/community service with suspended imposition. She was ordered to pay $51 in fines and costs. Defendant must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep her address current with the court. She must obtain an alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations; defendant must file proof of completion to the court by Aug. 18, 2012. A fine of an additional $250 and 24 hours useful public service is suspended as long as defendant completes evaluation and treatment as required.
Kenneth Cason, 25, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of protection order violation civil. He received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation. He was ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs, and must perform 72 hours of useful public service/community service by July 18, 2013 and provide proof of completion to the court. He must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court. Defendant must continue testing at compliance and must not drink alcohol. Attendance of parenting class through the Piñon Project is required and defendant must provide proof of completion to the court. Protection order shall remain in place.
THURSDAY, July 19
Charles White, 34, of Kayenta, Ariz., pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct unreasonable. Defendant was ordered to pay $76 in fines and costs.
Jenathan J. Begaye, 29, of Aneth, Utah, pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct unreasonable. Defendant was ordered to pay $76 in fines and costs.
