3:45 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
5:32 p.m.: A man and a woman were issued summonses on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees reported the woman had tried to steal $118.34 worth of clothing and deli foods. They reported the man had tried to steal $14.06 in beer and soda, and had received a $75.10 gift card from the return desk in exchange for a DVD player he had stolen.
5:59 p.m.: A man was arrested at Tire Max, 126 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on an obstruction charge.
7;31 p.m.: A man was arrested outside Best Western Hotel, 630 E. Main St., on suspicion of a protection order violation and on a municipal warrant after police responded to a report of a verbal disturbance between him and a woman.
9:39 p.m.: Two men were arrested in the 600 block of South Washington Street on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after police responded to a report that they were trespassing in a vacant trailer in the area. Inside the trailer, responding officers found several used syringes, a syringe loaded with meth, a small bag and a straw containing a white crystalline substance police believed to be meth.
Saturday, Jan. 6
1:33 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of South Broadway on suspicion of unlawful distribution and possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving an uninsured vehicle and displaying an expired temporary permit. A pipe containing meth residue was found in the man’s pocket, and a butane torch, a digital scale, a cigarette box and a bag of meth, a hypodermic needle, two straws with meth residue and more than 100 empty plastic bags were found in his vehicle. The man reportedly told police he had been both selling and consuming meth.
9:11 a.m.: A man was arrested at National 9 Motel, 301 W. Main St., on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and domestic violence after police responded to a report of an earlier disturbance at the nearby Conoco Gas Station. When responding officers arrived, the man had reportedly left the gas station and gone to a room at the motel, where he was holding a woman down on the bed. The woman was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment of an apparent wrist injury she sustained as a result of being held down. After being medically cleared, she was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
6:11 p.m.: A man was arrested at Colorado Skate Collective, 28 W. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a Texas burglary charge and on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees claimed he had stolen a pair of shoes, two hats, a beanie and a hacky sack, valued at $45 total.
9:14 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1500 block of South Broadway on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
Sunday, Jan. 7
2:41 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 700 block of South Broadway on suspicion of DUI after he was pulled over for driving in the wrong direction and stopping in the middle of a crosswalk. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.
3:22 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 2100 block of North Dolores Road on suspicion of DUI and weaving. He reportedly told arresting officers he had been drinking at Blondie’s Trophy Room that evening, and that this was not the first time he had gotten in trouble for DUI.
10:52 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of North Madison Street on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.
7:09 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of East Montezuma Avenue on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence. The man’s wife claimed he and another woman had hit her in the face, knocked her to the ground and hit her again. The woman was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment of a facial injury. The man was medically cleared at the hospital due to severe intoxication. Police were unable to immediately locate the female suspect in the assault.
7:52 p.m.: A man was arrested at Liquid Assets, 718 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting and trespassing. Store employees claimed he had stolen two bottles of whiskey, valued at $23.98 total. The man was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication, and he reportedly threatened the arresting officer throughout the transportation.
8:43 p.m.: An employee was arrested at McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., on suspicion of trespassing and underage consumption of alcohol after he was trespassed from the restaurant earlier in the day. Other restaurant employees reported he had come to work intoxicated and refused to leave.
8:52 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after store employees claimed she had tried to steal a pair of leggings and a pair of children’s jeans, valued at $25.94 total. ‘
Tuesday, Jan. 9
11:24 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
5:54 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
8:29 p.m.: A man was arrested at Conoco Gas Station, 302 W. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
11:20 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Holiday Inn, 2121 E. Main St., on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after police responded to a report of a disturbance between her and her girlfriend in one of the rooms. The girlfriend reportedly had a bloody nose and multiple scratches on her face, but told responding officers nothing had happened. The girlfriend declined to press charges against the suspect, but police arrested her based on the injuries and blood found in the room that suggested a fight had occurred. The girlfriend was also arrested on a municipal warrant.
