The Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra led by Mimi Scott, certified Yoga Nidra Facilitator, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20 from noon to 12:50 p.m. at the Cortez Cultural Center, 25 N. Market St. A 45-minute yoga class for regular students precedes the meditation. The Cultural Center hosts once-monthly Yoga Nidra on an ongoing basis; contact the Cultural Center at 565-1151 or Mimi Scott at 564-0100 to learn when future classes will be held.

Using the integrative power of intention to rebuild health, love life, family life and professional life, participants are led into deep meditation slowing the brain waves down to the alpha and theta state of consciousness, to the level of deepest relaxation.

The general public is invited — no yoga or meditation experience is needed. A donation will be accepted, but is not required. Participants may bring a pad, pillow and blanket to make themselves comfortable to lie on the floor in deep guided meditation.
