To the editor:

A headline in last weeks Times stated the odors from the new waste water treatment plant would “most likely” be eliminated. This will not be acceptable to the Residents of Riverside Avenue. This summer we have had to suffer from the stench of raw sewage emitted from the new plant. This has been and continues to be a reoccurring problem. Last Wednesday evening the the noisome odor of untreated feces drove my wife and I from our hot tub. Why has the town of Mancos spent several million dollars if the result is a plant that pollutes the air? This cannot be allowed to continue. The old sewage lagoons were far less redolent. The new plant must stop emitting these offensive odors completely. No other solution will be acceptable for the residents of Riverside Avenue.
