MEMBERS OF THE Bond Committee set out Friday evening, armed with campaign signs and information. They stopped and answered questions and placed yard signs in the yards of people who say they support 3C.

A group of about 30 people gathered at the Ponderosa Restaurant last Friday evening, armed with information and red signs.

The signs read, “Yes 3C/Strong Schools Strong Community”. The small group of people, mostly parents and teachers, spent Friday evening knocking on doors in Dolores and putting signs up where they were wanted.

Their message: “Vote Yes on 3C.”

It is the latest effort to inform the public about the Dolores School District’s $3.47 million bond that will be on the Nov. 6 ballot for those that live in the Dolores School District attendance boundaries.

If approved, the district will get an additional $2.62 million in a matching BEST Grant.

When finished about 270 signs were placed throughout the school district’s attendance area.

Next, the group hopes to give tours of the facilities that need to be replaced at the high school.

Principal Brandon Thurston invited the community this week, to come tour the Science/Ag Building on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 3:45 p.m. or at 5:30 p.m.

He will have information regarding the poor condition of the outdated building. He will also discuss the problems with the current locker rooms.

Information regarding the proposed replacement of these facilities will be available. Anyone interested in the tours, please meet in the Commons Area a few minutes before the scheduled times.
