Marshmallow-pecan acorn squash. Beer can chicken. Peach glazed salmon. Strawberry cream pie. Getting hungry yet?

Satisfy those cravings for every kind of cooking imaginable, by attending the Taste of Home Cooking School at the Ute Mountain Casino on Thursday Oct. 18. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the show will begin at 6:30.

The cooking school prepares 300 shows all over the country, with one of nine chefs doling out recipes to food-lovers and aspiring chefs. Whether a professional culinary career is in your future or you want to spice up your dinner nights, the Taste of Home crew can help.

The chef will provide step-by-step instructions on how to make the tastiest concoctions and the demonstration will last about 2 to 3 hours. Come early and meet the chef prior to the show.

Every attendee will receive a gift bag and a Taste of Home Cookbook. There will also be a chance to register for door prizes and to get the recipes created.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and $35 for VIP. These can be purchased at the Cortez Journal, Empire Electric or by calling 565-8527.
