A pickup truck crashed in a field off U.S. Highway 491 at County Road 18 at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle went about 60 feet off the highway into a field and rolled onto its top, according to Sgt. Rob Madden of the Colorado State Patrol.

Initially, it was reported to officials that two people were possibly trapped inside the vehicle.

“They were reported as being out of the vehicle and doing fine,” Madden told The Journal. “There is not anything in the call (report) about the second person, and there is not a report about the driver being transported, so normally what that means is everybody was fine.”

The driver was a 77-year-old man from New Mexico, he said.

The Colorado State Patrol said the cause of the crash has not been determined.
