Geo. Greenwood, Lebanon rancher and owner of a coal mine, who suffered severe hip injuries in a truck accident on Aug. 11, has recovered sufficiently to be able to walk around for a short time daily, according to Mrs. Greenwood, who was in Dolores Thursday evening. Mrs. Greenwood, after a costly experience ($50 for 50 miles) with an inexperienced truck driver employed since her husband’s injury, has assumed much of the duties herself. She is superintending the digging of their potato crop and also attending to their coal business.

Mrs. Mary Livington, of Dove Creek, was in Dolores Thursday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Akin drove out to Lewis Thursday afternoon to attend the Henry Honaker sale.

Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Periman were up from McPhee Wednesday calling upon Mr. and Mrs. N. Musgrave.

Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Thomas came in Tuesday evening, after having spent several days out in the Glades.

Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Greene and Mrs. Callie Harkey drove to Durango yesterday evening to attend the showing of “Congorillo.”

W. E. Ratekin and family motored over to Cedaredge Friday and spent the weekend with Mr. Ratekin’s parents. They returned home Sunday afternoon.

A. L. Long of Durango, and Ernest Webber of Montrose were in Dolores and vicinity during the week. They both represent wool purchasing agencies. A 6-cent advance is reported being made on consignments.

James Noland, democratic candidate for district attorney, was a visitor in Dolores this week.

Men from the Durango fish hatchery planted a truck load of young rainbow trout in retaining ponds on the Dolores River yesterday. Which means more fresh fish for those who can catch them in about three years.

Mrs. Chas. Lee, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Lee, drove to Towaoc yesterday afternoon to visit with Miss Rosemary Trent, home economics teacher at the Indian school.

Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Lee and children were down from Rico Saturday night.

Mrs. Rhinehart, of Disappointment, who has recently been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Reed and family, in California, arrived in Dolores last week and is now visiting her daughter, Mrs. Norman Hammond, and family.

Thronton Lockett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lockett, had a painful accident at school early this week when he fell from the banister of a stair and struck the cement walk on his face. He lost some teeth and was considerably bruised.

Art Craig, representative of the American Type Founders company, was a caller at the Star office yesterday afternoon. Mr. Craig is one of the state’s best known newspaper men, having ran papers in Paonia and Greeley.
