I have long suspected that Congressman Scott Tipton doesn’t represent our values here in Southwest Colorado, but the big rally he held with John Boehner and Paul Ryan last week proves it.

At the rally, Tipton and his party leaders again revealed their agenda. How can Congressman Tipton think that the radical budget plan introduced by Paul Ryan is the right solution for Coloradans? Tipton has voted for the bill twice and has praised its massive cuts to social programs. It slashes Medicare and cuts $2.4 trillion from Medicaid, ending the guarantee that all seniors will have health care.

The worst part of the Tipton-Ryan budget is that it continues to pay for giant tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires but does nothing to help people like you and me.

Tipton’s decision to double down on partisanship and extreme cuts to social programs that help the middle class is not the right approach. That’s why I’m voting for Sal Pace on Nov. 6.
