I would to respond to a letter submitted by Ann Gordanier, “Vote the Bible.”

I know for certainty that I am not the only one who strongly believes in separation of church and state and who is tired of hearing “God Bless America.” Instead, it would be more inclusive to say “God blesses all countries” (including those of Muslim, Hindu, et al, nations)! We shouldn’t believe everything that is in the Bible, especially since it was written by man (and very few women) even though the authors were “inspired.” The Ten Commandments were written by God himself. There are such things that just won’t work in this day and age, i.e., Leviticus where it says to marry only when you are virgin otherwise you should be executed!

With this in mind, I’d like to rewrite my version to let others be aware that we humans come in all shapes, color and beliefs with different cultural background, etc. And this will be my version:

Vote.

Pray for the whole world!

We are one world with many nations under God.
