The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a flash flood warning for north-central La Plata County until 7:15 p.m.
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the 416 Fire burn scar. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Durango, Rockwood, Hermosa and Trimble.
Excessive rainfall over the 416 Fire burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Hermosa Creek and Tripp Gulch Drainages. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
This includes U.S. Highway 550 in Colorado between mile markers 26 and 43 as well as County Road 203 and 250.
In Montezuma County, isolated and scattered showers were expected Friday through Monday.
