At the community dinner last Friday, the businesses were acknowledged for their efforts to light up the town. Kilgore Indian Art donated a Navajo weaving for the first place winner. The Mancos Valley Arts Council donated a Navajo horse hair pot for second place and the Mancos Valley Chamber of Commerce donated a matted photo of Monument Valley taken by Bob Goldfeder. Honorable mention awards were given to the Valley Inn and to Mancos Valley Bank. Third place went to Olio and second place went to Geeks on Grand. First place went to the Mancos Inn. A big "thank you" goes out to all the businesses in Mancos who lit up the town. Enjoy the lights this season and we'll light up the town again next year.
Christmas isn't here yet. So, that means the town is still in the mood to have a little more fun. The Goodnight Trail of Western Art and Nathaniel's of Colorado (both are members of the Chamber of Commerce) have once again teamed up to bring us "Christmas on the Trail." There will be a western gear show at Nathaniel's and the chuck wagon will be in town at the corner of Main and Grand in front of the Goodnight Trail Gallery. They will be serving up cowboy coffee and some chuck wagon chow from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to share in the fun.
