Wednesday, Sept. 19
8:24 a.m.: A driver allegedly ran a stoplight in the 400 block of E. Main St. and hit a northbound vehicle on Harrison St., causing major damage to both vehicles.
10:39 a.m.: A woman at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., reported that she suspected that a man and woman in the library had stolen her wallet earlier in the day, but an officer did not find it after searching them.
2:15 p.m.: A man reported that his wife backed into a pickup truck in the Taco Bell parking lot, 1300 E. Main St.
8:04 p.m.: A pedestrian who reportedly had been blocking the McDonald’s exit was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and trespassing. He was medically cleared for intoxication at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
Thursday, Sept. 20
3:37 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., medically cleared because of intoxication, then jailed.
6:12 p.m.: A man was arrested for violating alcohol-related bond conditions and possessing alcohol and an open container in City Park, 802 E. Main St. He was medically cleared for intoxication at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
Friday, Oct. 21
10:06 a.m.: A man reported that a tool bag containing about $529 in electrical tools was taken from his vehicle, parked at his home in the 800 block of Brookside Drive.
12:57 p.m.: A woman reported that she had been hit in the nose by another woman in the 515 N. Park St., but an officer found no witness or evidence of a fight.
5:39 p.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating two alcohol-related protection orders in Parque de Vida, 400 N. Mildred Road.
9:57 p.m.: A man was arrested near the City Market gas station, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest after allegedly trying to hit an officer with his purse. A second officer applied a stun gun charge to the man’s neck to subdue him. The suspect was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
11:10 p.m.: A driver was stopped near W. Main St. and S. Maple St. after a tip that she was weaving on U.S. Highway 160 near County Road G. She was arrested for failing to provide proof of insurance, careless driving, weaving and DUI – her fifth DUI arrest – and jailed on a felony hold.
11:51 p.m.: A man was arrested for trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., medically cleared because of intoxication at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
11:45 p.m.: A driver was pulled over in the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160 for turn-signal violations and arrested on a felony warrant from Mesa County, suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and illegally possessing a handgun, due to his previous felony charge.
Saturday, Sept. 22
3:23 p.m.: After two couples got in a fight at a residence in the 500 block of S. Elm St., the man and woman who were visiting the residence were giving trespass notices.
5:12 p.m.: A man who drove from the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving with a suspended license. The officer planned to seek guidance from the district attorney about a possible felony charge, since it seemed to be the man’s fourth or fifth DUI arrest.
4:58 p.m.: A car hit a parked pickup truck in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., causing minor damage to both.
Sunday, Sept. 23
2:30 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a Montezuma County warrant and for allegedly possessing meth and drug paraphernalia after she was observed parked with no lights in the lot at Chronic Therapy, 1020 S. Broadway.
8:56 a.m.: Two men were arrested for violating alcohol-related protection orders in the 600 block E. Montezuma Ave.. Both were medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital because of intoxication, then jailed.
10:56 a.m.: A man reported his camper had been damaged during the attempted theft of a television in the 600 block of Apple Drive. Damage was estimated at $400 to $500.
12:36 p.m.: A man reported that his phone, valued at $385, had been stolen from his van in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St. He said a $600 camera apparently was untouched.
3:03 p.m.: A woman was investigated for shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., then arrested on suspicion of possessing meth and drug paraphernalia. At the jail, a suspected counterfeit $20 bill was found her possession.
6:54 p.m.: After a report of a fight near the Cortez Public Library, one man was arrested on a warrant and another man was arrested on two warrants in City Park, 802 E. Main St.
10:29 p.m.: A woman suspected of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., avoided police by running into a field. One of her companions was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of criminal impersonation after allegedly giving police a false name. Another man who left the scene was found later but not charged. Two other companions were released.
Monday, Sept. 24
4:18 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of W. Seventh St. on a warrant and on suspicion of disturbing the peace, trespass and resisting arrest after a confrontation at a home in Oak Meadows trailer park. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital because of the scuffle he had with a police officer, then jailed. His anxiety medication was seized and was to be destroyed because it wasn’t in a proper prescription bottle.
Tuesday, Sept. 25
2:22 a.m.: A woman was arrested at the Best Western, 535 E. Main St., on suspicion of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after she allegedly three objects, including a vase, while at the reception desk. Later at the jail, she claimed that she had been sexually assaulted, but declined assistance, including use of a sexual assault kit. Her clothes were bagged as evidence, and a victim’s advocate spoke with her.
11:18 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave. A man was cited for possessing alcohol in the park.
11:57 p.m.: A motorcyclist was arrested on a warrant in the 1300 block of E. Main St. and cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and failing to display valid registration.
