Final plans for south side park are introduced

Community input played large role in final decisions
The final concept graphic for the south side park was displayed next to an “implementation priority” map during an open house organized by Cortez Parks and Recreation and Connect One Design on Wednesday night. Attendees were provided an opportunity to vote for which park features they wanted to be completed first.
A double rainbow could be seen over the site of the old Montezuma-Cortez High School on an overcast day in early September. Demolition of the site required asbestos treatment over the summer. Now, the building is near totally removed.
