There will be a USDA Commodity Card Registration for 2013 cards on Wednesday, Jan. 16, for Cortez, Dolores and Mancos recipients.
There is a one card per household limit; those that have more than one dwelling at their address must bring in proof of two dwellings, such as two electricity bills. Applicants must bring a copy of their proof of 2012 income to be left at the office. Office staff will not make copies of paperwork brought in by applicants. Applicants must also bring proof of physical address, and Social Security card for the head of the household only. If the correct information is not brought to the office, applicants will not receive a card that day. Applicants must have a Dolores card if they want to pick up their commodities in Dolores.
Registration places and times are, Cortez, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the County Annex; Dolores, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Dolores Community Center; and Mancos, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge Basement. Those that are unable to register on this day may register on Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
Gross monthly income limits are: for one in the family - $1,575; two in the family - $2,111; three in the family - 2,648; four in the family - $3,184; five in the family - $3,721; and six in the family - $4,257. For additional family members, add $536 per person to these income limits.
