Phase 2 in construction at Re-6 Mancos School District continued this week, with work on various facilities around the elementary school and gym additions.
Phase 2, which is scheduled to be complete in April 2019, will see the additions to the district’s main gym and elementary school, and the multipurpose building will also be remodeled.
This week, construction crews led by owner’s representative Monty Guiles, were scheduled to complete the pouring of cement stem walls at the Elementary School, an early step in setting the building’s foundation.
At the gym addition, plumbing foundation was scheduled to begin, alongsie slab prep, which is part of preparing a building’s footing.
Sanitary sewer and storm drain installation between the gym and West Wing was scheduled to be complete, and crews continued putting up cinder blocks for a fire wall at the south side of the addition.
