TaeLynn Comisky, a junior at Montezuma-Cortez High School, recently won a $1,000 scholarship as part of Pueblo Community College Southwest’s sponsorship of the High-Point Herdsman 4-H Award.
Comisky won the award after earning the points during the Montezuma County Fair for her project board, animal care and interviews, and for helping other 4-H members. Comisky raised two pigs for the fair and has been in 4-H for nine years.
“I love 4-H and pigs,” she said. “I like being involved in the community and working with younger 4-H members.”
Comisky is working out her post-high school plans, but right now, she wants to either be a veterinarian, a law enforcement officer or a U.S. Marine, said Shannon Livick, special assistant to the executive dean.
