A winter weather advisory is in effect from 8 p.m. Thursday until noon Saturday in the mountains of Western Colorado, according to the National Weather Service.
Five to 10 inches of snow is possible, and hazardous conditions might face commuters in the morning and evening.
In Montezuma County, there’s a 20 percent chance of snow before noon and after 3 p.m. Thursday, and a 70 percent chance of snow on Thursday night. Thursday’s high temperature is expected to be in the upper 40s; and the overnight low, about 30 degrees.
On Friday, there’s also a 70 percent chance of snow during the day, and a 50 percent chance of snow at night. Friday’s high is expected to be near 37 degrees; and the overnight low, about 24.
On Saturday, skies are expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 34 degrees and a low of 20. There’s a 20 percent chance of snow.
In La Plata County, there’s an 80 percent chance of snow on Thursday, and a 90 percent chance of snow on Friday.
