DUI Convictions
The following are convictions made for driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher or by prescription or illegal drugs. All convicts were ordered to obtain and follow one or more of the following: drug/alcohol evaluations, Victim Impact Panel, Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving, Level II education and therapy, Alive at 25, inpatient and/or outpatient treatment or therapy, and must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use. Suspended imposition of additional jail sentence (in parentheses) is conditional upon completing probation successfully and are awarded if all other requirements of the sentence are completed within one year. Dollar amounts are fines and court costs defendants were ordered to pay.
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13
. Jeffrey A. McVay, 43, of Bloomfield, N.M. DUI. This is defendant's first alcohol-related driving conviction. *Deferred sentence of 12 months probation, $698.50, community service 48 hours.
DWAI Convictions
The following are convictions for driving while ability impaired with a blood alcohol content between 0.05 percent and 0.08 percent or by prescription or illegal drugs. All convicts were ordered to obtain and follow one or more of the classes or programs listed above in the DUI category; additional listed conditions also apply.
MONDAY, FEB. 11
. Jeremy L. Lehi, 28, of Towaoc. DWAI; False Reporting-False Identification. Four days in jail with credit for time served (additional 30 days in jail suspended imposition), $907.50, community service 24 hours.
TUESDAY, FEB. 12
. Karli Raye Hargraves, 30, of Cortez. DWAI. (365 days in jail *deferred/suspended imposition), 12 months probation, $679.50, community service 48 hours.
. Darrin L. Brandon, 43, of Cortez. DWAI. This is defendant's third DUI conviction. Twenty-four months probation is revoked. Defendant is resentenced to 365 days in jail (additional 335 days in jail suspended imposition), $854, community service 48 hours.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/
ASSAULT
The following cases of domestic violence or assault require those convicted to attend and complete one or more of these additional classes or programs in addition to jail time, probation, fines and community service: domestic violence evaluation, substance abuse treatment and testing, inpatient treatment and anger management.

TUESDAY, FEB. 12
. Reggie Lamar Jacket, 31, of Cortez. Assault 3-Knowingly/Recklessly Causing Injury. Twenty-four months probation is revoked. Defendant is resentenced to 10 days in jail, updated sentence of 24 months probation, $1,602.80.

*A deferred judgment is not a conviction; it is a sentence typically put off (deferred) for a specific period of time, typically a year. If the defendant complies with each of the conditions of the deferred sentence within the allotted time period, the defendant's record is cleared of this charge.
