Wednesday, Dec. 19
8:04 p.m.: A man attempting to enter a residence and then a vehicle was arrested on the 400 block of S. Chestnut St. Officers found the man rolling around on the sidewalk. When he refused to get into a patrol vehicle, a police sergeant initiated a drive stun to the man’s lower back.
11:37 p.m.: An officer arrested a man on the 800 S. Broadway with meth and a young child in the car. The man had court the next morning on several felony cases.
Thursday, Dec. 20
10:50 a.m.: A man was cited for trespassing the Maverik, at 455 N. State St. He was harassing customers and asking for money.
1:43 p.m.: A man called to report a traffic accident that occurred at the City Market parking lot, at 508 E. Main St., 13 days ago. He said it appeared a vehicle backed out and scratched the side of his van. There are no active leads or suspects.
4:24 p.m.: No citations were issued in a traffic accident that occurred on the 27000 block of U.S. Highway 160. Both drivers had conflicting stories and there was not enough evidence of damage.
7:32 p.m.: Officers served an arrest warrant on a woman at a residence on the 1300 block of Acoma St. While contacting the woman, officers found a bag of meth and a pipe in her purse.
8:20 p.m.: Two vehicles backed out simultaneously at the Walmart parking lot, at 1835 E. Main St., causing minor damage. Both drivers were issued citations.
9:43 p.m.: An officer observed a man urinating on the wall on the southeast corner of City Market, at 508 E. Main St. The officer asked the man why he was peeing on the building and he said, “sorry.” He was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center, at 730 E. Driscoll St., and issued a summons for indecent exposure.
Friday, Dec. 21
4:12 a.m.: The manager of Oak Meadows Trailer Park, at 405 W. Seventh St., called to report a black Toyota pickup was stuck in a ditch he had been digging for a sewer line. The owner of the truck was not on scene, but an officer called the owner, who said he planned on towing the truck in the morning. There was no damage to the sewer line.
8:43 p.m.: A man driving a black SUV was pulled over for running a red light at the intersection of S. Broadway and Seventh St. A check through dispatch found the man had two active warrants. There was also a smell of marijuana in the car and the man admitted to smoking a pipe about 25 minutes ago. He was arrested on the warrants as well as driving without insurance, driving under a revoked license, displaying expired plates, failing to obey a traffic signal and protection order violation.
Saturday, Dec. 22
7:17 a.m.: A man sleeping at the U.S. Postal Service, at 35 S. Beech St., was arrested for trespassing. He had previously been trespassed from the post office on Dec. 15.
Sunday, Dec. 23
1:25 a.m.: A man with seven DUI convictions in New Mexico and two in Colorado was arrested for DUI alcohol on the 10 block of S. Elm St. He was driving a gray Kia sedan with New Mexico temporary plates and an open 20 pack of Budweiser in the back seat.
