1:57 a.m.: An arrest warrant was issued for a man who violated a protection order by visiting a property he was restrained from. He had been arrested for domestic violence and harassment two days before.
11:51 a.m.: A man was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and theft on the 500 block of N. Elm St. for stealing an iPhone 6 and a pair of gloves from a property on the 23000 block of County Road K.3. The man said the property owner was his sixth-grade teacher.
3:04 p.m.: A man was pulled over for speeding was suspected of driving while under the influence of marijuana. He was evaluated for signs of impairment at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St. The case was waiting on the results of a blood draw.

8:55 a.m.: Snow fell from the roof of a car onto a windshield, obstructing a driver’s view and causing a minor two-vehicle crash at 14th St. and Hillside Drive in Dolores.
10:47 a.m.: A man was arrested outside Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply.
12:15 p.m.: A woman was arrested outside Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear.
12:52 p.m.: A woman was remanded from Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear.

8:11 p.m.: A man at the entrance of Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested on a warrant for failure to comply.
Thursday, Jan. 17
5:03 p.m.: A female inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served two warrants, for failure to appear and failure to comply.
10:47 p.m.: A woman was arrested on four protection order violations near Aces Storage, 7500 S. Highway 160/491. A man reported that she had been drinking and refused to leave the property. She has two protection orders prohibiting her from possessing alcohol or marijuana.
Friday, Jan. 18
1:25 p.m.: A male inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant for failure to appear.
1:53 p.m.: A female inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant for failure to comply.
11:55 p.m.: A man pulled over on suspicion of speeding and driving without a defective headlight was cited for driving on a suspended license.
6:25 p.m.: A woman at Montezuma Mexican Restaurant, at 18396 Colorado Highway 145, was arrested on a warrant out of Washington state for vehicular assault.
Saturday, Jan. 19
11:49 p.m.: A woman was arrested on charges of third-degree assault, obstruction of a telephone service and domestic violence on the 2000 block of E. Empire St. after a possible misunderstanding about a sexual request. As several people were hanging out and grilling, a woman said a man allegedly asked if she would like to engage in a three or foursome with his girlfriend and another man. One of the women, who had been drinking, found out about the requested get-together, and allegedly struck her boyfriend in the mouth.
2:58 p.m.: A woman who said she smoked three bowls of meth at a residence on the 25000 block of County Road T was served three warrants. She was also served two protection order violations, which prohibit her from consuming controlled substances.
Sunday, Jan. 20
4:30 p.m.: A man on the 5000 block of County Road 25 was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.
Monday, Jan. 21
8:19 a.m.: A man was arrested on the 200 block of N. Fifteenth St. on a protection order violation. He was restrained from the residence. Upon his arrest, he told an officer, “I can’t even go to my own house without going to jail.”
9:11 p.m.: A woman pulled over for a defective headlight near Main St. and Washington St in Cortez was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.
Tuesday, Jan. 22
2:54 a.m.: A man knocking on doors and causing a disturbance on the 13000 block of County Road 28 was arrested for violating a protection order. He had been drinking, but a protection order prohibits him from consuming alcohol.
5:54 p.m.: A deputy killed an injured deer on the side of the road on the 15000 block of Colorado Highway 145. A man requested to take possession of the carcass.
