Rudolph – a quick historyRudolph, created by Robert Lewis May, first appeared in a Christmas coloring book for Montgomery Ward in 1939.
The year 2014 was Rudolph’s 75th anniversary, the 50th anniversary of the TV special, and the appearance of a Rudolph postage stamp issued by the U.S. Post Office.
A Little Lamb (a poem)Mary is a little lamb. Her fleece is kinda grungy,
But she is only 2 weeks old and always very hungry.
I fed her from a bottle and held her in my arms.
It was just a moment till I fell for all her charms.
Her big black eyes looked up at me then quietly closed in sleep.
Her owner, Ray, said quietly, “She’s not yours to keep,
But you can have the midnight shift and feed again at four,
And in just another month we’ll have 49 more.”
My friend looked at me and frowned, “You don’t have a car.
And if you think I’ll bring you here ...”
I cried hot tears then got some sense.
I’ve held a lot of babies, which should have been a plenty.
But none of them were half as cute
As this little lamb named Mary.
