The Dolores High School Boys basketball team was lead by junior center Tyler Wier last Friday at Grand Junction Central at the 2A Region 5 Tournament. Weir led the Bears with 17 points in a losing effort last Friday, falling to the Yuma Indians, 57-43.
Yuma (21-2) went onto win the 2A Region 5 Tourney with a 50-33 win over Hayden (21-3) last Saturday to punch its ticket to the 2A state tourney.
Regionals was held at Grand Junction Central High School.
Dolores (15-7) also got 14 points from senior Austin Blackmer. But senior point guard Cody Carroll was limited to two points in his final game.
The Bears finished with their first winning season in 10 years and won the San Juan Basin League regular season championship.

The Dolores Lady Bears had their season end last Friday with a 60-24 drubbing by the hands of the Meeker Cowgirls at the 2A Region 5 Tourney in Grand Junction.
Senior Cydney McHnery led Dolores (15-7) with seven points, while junior Brianna Schwartz chipped in six. Senior sharpshooter Lexi Atkinson was held to one point in her last high school game.
Taylor Neilson paced Meeker (21-3) with 24 points.
The Cowgirls ended their season last Saturday with a 55-31 loss to Simla (20-4) in the regional finals.
