Starting Jan. 5, Dolores resident Carolyn Gunn kicks off the Winter Tales Lecture Series with the presentation “Climbing Mt. Kilamanjaro.”
Earlier this year, Gunn climbed the mountain, and she’ll share photos of the adventure. The climb was followed by a photographic safari to the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park, and the presentation contains highlights of the trip. Mount Kilimanjaro, an extinct volcano in northern Tanzania, is the largest free-standing mountain in the world, rising to an elevation of 19,341 feet.
Foreign Films will be screened in the meeting room on alternating Thursday nights, Jan. 12 – March 9, with selections from India, France, Spain, Brazil and Italy. Attendees are welcome to bring an hors d’oeuvre to share.
