St. Paul's Church in Mancos announces its Holy Week schedule.
Palm Sunday (March 24) Services are at 9 a.m. and includes Blessing and Procession of the Palms with the Narrative Reading of the Passion Gospel According to St. Luke and Holy Communion.
Maundy Thursday Services are at 6 p.m. with the Celebration of the Institution of the Holy Communion (The Last Supper) followed by the Service of the Stripping of the Altar.
Traditional Good Friday Prayers and Devotions will be held at noon with Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament.
The Easter Sunday Service is at 9 a.m. with the Blessing and Lighting of the Easter Fire; the Blessing and Lighting of the Pascal Candle; and the Easter Service of Holy Communion. Pre-service music will be provided by Carolyn Smith playing selections from Johann Sebastian Back on the hammered dulcimer. Smith is a professional musician who has just relocated to Mancos and will become the Church musician. You are invited to come and welcome Smith to St. Paul's and Mancos.
