Monday storm brings dangerous road conditions, crashes

Snowfall, high winds bring crashes, snowslides
A three-car crash on U.S. 160/491 in front of Woody’s convenience store sent one person to the hospital.
Several snowslides released about 9 a.m. Monday near Ajax Mountain at the east end of Telluride. No injuries were reported.
A van carrying a couple and several teens slid off U.S. Highway 160/491 south of Cortez about 10 a.m. Monday. According to the driver, everyone was wearing seat belts, and no one was injured.
Horses on County Road 25 weathered the storm with ease, with plenty of hay to eat.
