This letter in response to David Gilmour (Journal, March 26) who decided to chastise Sheriff Dennis Spruell for standing up for our civil liberties and constitutional rights. I want to applaud our sheriff for not sheepishly enforcing bad legislation that people like Gilmour seemingly want to champion. I have no doubt that our sheriff would also not enforce or confiscate our semi=auto weapons if passed down from more anti-gun legislation.
We are lucky to have a sheriff who supports our right to bear arms. May I remind our readers that Mexico has a total gun ban on their citizens? Mexico is also the murder capital of the world and the citizens of that nation cannot defend themselves from all the criminal activity that is taking place.
