San Juan Mountains Association and Canyons of the Ancients are recruiting volunteers to serve as trail information specialists for Sand Canyon. Volunteers will be trained to provide Monument information to the public in the Sand Canyon area. Trained Volunteers will be asked to commit at least 8 hours per quarter. Hikers, horsemen and bicyclists are encouraged to apply.

In partnership with San Juan Public Lands, SJMA also is recruiting volunteers for the Wilderness Information Specialists (WIS) and Ghost Riders program.
WIS and Ghost Riders promote public education in the Weminuche, Lizard Head and South San Juan Wilderness areas. Volunteers conduct public outreach and perform light trail work while hiking, backpacking or horseback riding on wilderness trails. Volunteers are selected on the basis of attitude, experience, skills and dedication.
Training is provided. Interested volunteers must go through an interview process and attend all trainings.
