A free fly fishing seminar sponsored by the San Juan Fly Fishing Federation will be offered Saturday, April 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with registration opening at 9 a.m. Meet at the Cottonwood Campground parking lot along the San Juan River, four miles below Navajo Dam.
There will be a wide variety of topics presented in 20 to 30 minute blocks. Topics include:
Equipment selection and use
San Juan River Aquatic Life, Rigging and Knots
Dry Fly Fishing and River Reading
Float Tubing and Safety
Fishing with Nymphs, Jigs and Fish Handling
Hands-on Casting and Fly tying
A New Mexico State Parks day pass is required for each vehicle and will be issued free of charge for all seminar participants while the seminar is in progress. Bring a lawn chair for your comfort, paper and pen to take notes and enjoy yourself. Waders are not required!
