There will be a new chief of staff for U.S. Rep Scott Tipton, R-Cortez.
In a Wednesday news release, the Cortez native announced that Nicholas Zupancic will be chief of staff in his Congressional office. Zupancic, who had been Tiptons legislative director, will replace outgoing chief of staff Mike Hesse, who is leaving this month to pursue other opportunities in Colorado.
Im grateful for the work Mike has put into my office and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors, Tipton said. Im confident that Nick will excel in his new position and will continue to play a key role in working with me and the rest of the staff to serve the people of the Third Congressional District.
We are focused and looking forward to the year ahead and continuing with the work we are doing to fix our economy and get people back to work, while reducing the size of government and reining in out of control spending, Tipton said in the release.
Tipton, who is in his first term, will face a challenge in Novembers election by Rep. Sal Pace, D-Pueblo.
