This weekend is a big weekend for the great outdoors.
In addition to the trails meeting on Thursday, there is the famous Great Outdoors Silent Auction and Mountain Film on Tour, which will be Friday at the Dolores Community Center starting at 5:30 p.m.
Admission to the event, which will feature some fabulous outdoor films, costs $10. Children under 15 years old get in for free.
"This is a family friendly event," said Jay Loschert, Dolores River Festival Director.
If you don't go for the films, go for the silent auction, which will feature a lot of great outdoors items and so much more.
"There is a whole range of stuff," Loschert said. "And there really is something for everyone.
On the silent auction block is a golf package, massage package, acupuncture package, personal trainers, arts and crafts, art, jewelry, a handmade quilt and water proof sleeping pads.
"But I am mostly excited about the brand new kayak donated by Four Corners River Sports," Loschert said.
And if you don't go for the auction items, go for the beer, provided by the Dolores River Brewery or the food provided by the Absolute Bakery in Mancos.
The event is a fundraiser for the Dolores River Festival, which will be on June 1 this year.
The films start at 6:30 p.m.
"The films offer a really wide range of things and something for everybody," Loschert said.

"It's a great time to socialize and find great bargains and it goes to a great cause, the Dolores River Festival is a great community event," Loschert said.
Proceeds from the event Friday and from the River Festival go to sustainable community development projects.
The Greater Dolores Action group has used proceeds to do work along the Dolores River Trail and was instrumental in hauling a lot of scrap metal out of the river a few years ago.
