I am writing this letter on behalf of my brother, Jack, who recently passed away. He and his wife lived in the senior housing unit just east of the (Dolores) high school.
During the many past winters, there was a young person or persons who came over from the high school and cleared his car and sidewalk of snow, knowing that Jack was disabled and several times each week had to drive into Cortez for his dialysis treatments.
One often hears of all of the young people who take the wrong pathways in life and seem to get all the publicity for doing so. On the other hand, however, there are those who never seem to be noticed for their simple acts of kindness such as what this young person or persons did for my brother.
Thank you, whoever you were, for it not only made a difference to Jack but also renewed for each of us a believe in the young generation that somehow goes unnoticed.
