Navajo women speak of identity, literature at library
Gloria Emerson was one of the Navajo women poets who spoke at the Mancos Public Library on April 27.

Venaya Yazzie said she met Gloria Emerson and Esther Belin while at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe in the early nineties. The circle of Navajo poets and artists in the area is also fairly small, she said.
Esther Belin spoke about the importance of promoting Navajo literature and poetry.
