There is a bike thief spreading disappointment and more. A little 6-year-old boy had his bike stolen from in front of his home recently. This may not be a big deal to some but to this boy it is a huge event in a string of losses. A year ago his and his brothers’ whole world was turned upside down. There were serious concerns about their safety in a home that was becoming violent. So, Mom took the boys and left the only home they had ever known to keep them safe. The boys had to leave behind most of their toys and all of their pets. They left their school and friends to move to a new home in a different town. The little boy can’t talk clearly. He was bullied and called names at his new school, something that had never happened at his old school. The stay-at-home mom now works part time because she can’t find a full -time job. In a long list of losses for these kids, their beloved dog of eight years passed away about two weeks ago. And, then just a few days after that, the bike thief struck the devastating blow.
The bike is a deep purple with silver trim, the 6-year-old’s favorite colors. The family doesn’t have money to buy beds. There is no money to replace the bike. They don’t get food stamps or welfare. They are living below poverty and trying to put their lives back together. The boy just wants his bike back, no questions asked.
Please help heal this child’s broken heart. Someone knows where this bike is. They have seen a kid riding it. Their child suddenly had a bike with some vague explanation of where it came from.
