Free legal clinic to be held at Mancos library

A free legal clinic for people who have no attorney, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Mancos Public Library at 211 West First Street in Mancos.

By computer link, volunteer attorneys will answer questions, help fill out forms and explain the process and procedure for all areas of civil litigation, including family law, property law, probate law, collections, appeals, landlord-tenant law, small claims and civil protection orders

Walk-ins are welcome, and everyone will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis.

Upcoming dates are June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.

Kaleidoscope continues activities

Gentle yoga basics with Keneen is at 9 a.m. to 10:15. Yoga all levels with Keneen is at 10:30 a.m. to noon. The first class is free and drop ins are $12 and sign-in is encouraged. Register online at www.YogiKeneenDC.com.

Also, Zumba with "Coco" Chanelle, all levels is $5. The classes are Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 to 6:30 and on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m.

Indoor flea market ongoing event

The Mancos Flea Market is every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Old Hardware Store, 192 S. Main, across the bridge and just past The Absolute Bakery. Everyone is welcome to come sell, browse and buy. Spaces are available - 12'x12' for $15 for both days.

Correction: Light Alignment Classes

There is a schedule change for the Mancos Community Center "Light Alignment" classes. Classes are offered Wednesday's and Friday's in the mornings from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and later from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Participants should bring a towel, water and wear loose clothing. Light alignment classes

Light alignment classes are self-empowerment courses, offered with the beginner in mind, combining logic practice, reflective centering and mindful polarity processing to better manage life challenges. Health benefits include: strengthening mental clarity, the spine, muscles, nervous and endocrine systems and stress reduction. Light Alignment classes meet twice weekly: Wednesday's and Fridays. There will be two sessions: early morning, 7:30-8:30 a.m. and after work, 5:45-6:45 p.m. The class is offered in a six-week block, twice weekly June 19- July 26 at the Mancos Community Center, 138 Grand Ave. Participants are advised to refrain from eating an hour before class, wear loose clothing and bring a mat or towel to sit on. Irrigation water to be turned off

The Board of Directors of the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Co. announce that the irrigation water will be turned off for the season on Friday, June 28. Shareholders are urged to keep their stock ponds full and not wait until the last day as it may run out a couple of days earlier.

Farmers Market opens

The Mancos Farmers Market opens June 27 in Boyle Park, with fresh produce and other goodies, local music, and children's entertainment. Growers and vendors are needed; call Carrie Baikie at 759-2540.

Celebrate local music at the Mancos Public Library

Join the Mancos Public Library on Friday, July 5 at 7 p.m. for an informal celebration of the library and local music. We will be featuring talented musicians from all over the Mancos Valley with a variety of styles, including a special performance by violinist and Opera Lafayette Conductor & Artistic Director, Ryan Brown and violinist and Director of the Stanford Baroque Soloists, Anthony Martin. Ryan and Anthony have been performing together on historical fiddles for years in various orchestral and chamber groups. Local homemade pies will be available for sale by the pie or by the slice. Suggested donation for attendance is $10 per person, all proceeds will benefit the Mancos Public Library.

Women's small business conference

The Fourth Annual Southwest Colorado Women's Small Business Conference will take place Friday, July 13, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Durango.

Female entrepreneurs are invited to join the Colorado SBDC Network for educational seminars, one-on-one consulting, valuable networking opportunities and informative speakers.

Training topics will include marketing, sales and social media, strategic planning, the Colorado Healthcare Exchange, accounting and finances, funding options and more.

Teen writing group meets on Wednesdays

Local writer Suzanne Strazza, in partnership with the Mancos Public Library, will be leading a writer's group for teens ages 13 to 19.

This group will meet at the Mancos Public Library, 211 W. First St., every Wednesday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

No previous writing experience is needed.

There will be no homework or required writing for this class; it is merely to explore ideas and how to get them onto paper.

Teen Computer Club at Mancos library

The first Wednesday of each month at 5 to 6:30 p.m., teens will meet in the Community Meeting Room at the Mancos Public Library to work on various computer projects.

All meetings will have hands-on experience with digital devices, disassemble, build, etc.

At times, they will have regional computer geeks visit. They will answer questions on specified topics, such as animation, robotics, game development hacking, etc.
