Jed Theobald graduated from the Colorado School of Mines on May 10 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He is a 2008 graduate of Montezuma-Cortez High School. He is the son of John and Donna Theobald of Cortez. On June 2 he entered the Naval Officer Cadet School in Newport, R.I. Theobald will graduate Aug. 23 with the rank of dnsign. He will be assigned to the USS Preble (DDG88), a destroyer in San Diego.
