The La Plata Medical Society is offering three college scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year. Applicants must be from Colorado, and La Plata, Montezuma and Archuleta counties will be given priority.
$500 scholarship — college freshman pursuing a degree
$1,000 scholarship – college junior or senior pursing health care degree
$1,500 scholarship — third or fourth medical student with emphasis in primary care
Applications are available online at www.laplatamedicalsociety.org. The application deadline is Aug. 20. The scholarship recipients will be honored at the Annual Meeting of the La Plata Medical Society on Sept. 19 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Durango.
