David and Frances Maestas will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Aug. 31. Dave and Fran were married on Aug. 31, 1963, at Saint Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, in Grants, N.M., then honeymooned in Niagara Falls, Canada. They lived in Canada, California, New Mexico and Colorado before settling in Cortez, where they have lived on Montezuma Avenue for more than 41 years. Plans for an anniversary trip to San Francisco are in the making.
